Can you imagine two things that go together LESS than #weddings and Covid-19? Seriously. The whole “no hand-holding, no hugging, no gathering, no dance party, no dinner with friends and loved ones” situation we find ourselves in is entirely the opposite of everything that makes for a great wedding (or any celebration for that matter.) Humans are built for contact and connection not a real life PacMan game every time you go to the grocery store. (Find All the Food. Avoid All Contact. Or Die) Can I get a woot-woot for everyone in favor of a dance party IRL? Let’s hear a WOOT WOOT! Pretty sure all of the couples whose #weddingday plans have been impacted by Covid-19 top my list of “most ready” for this IRL dance party.
First, to each and every couple whose wedding plans have been impacted by the global pandemic, my heart is broken for you. My heart is broken for your disappointment and all the unknowns you face. My heart is broken for your stress. After all, planning one wedding comes with enough early gray hair much less having to do it all again. And, I know you’re thinking this #plottwist was NOT part of the plan. Hell, none of this *#@! was on my Inspiration Board. And, yet, you find yourself forced to reschedule, rework, reshuffle, and rearrange every detail of your Big Day all while consuming copious amounts of Netflix, dark chocolate, bacon, bourbon, or red wine (Or, maybe….All of the Above). Second, since we are finally adjusting to this new norm, it’s time to start the plans for your Wedding Version 2.0. Dust off your dancing shoes.
Step One, set a new date. Whether it’s #fingerscrossed with your current team of pros or not, you still have to start with the date.
Next, you are going to need a “bippity-boppity-boo” moment to let your guests know the new deets for the Big Day. Enter your…Save The New Date. Honestly, when I saw these witty re-imagined announcements, I couldn’t help but smile. Finally, something to share with the community of couples having a total planning do-over that might actually be cause for a grin, a smile, or even a belly laugh?

Smiles and LOLs aside, my other favorite thing about these Event Change Cards are the collective of independent artists you support with your purchase. A little known fact about Minted is that all of their designs are created by Independent Artists. #winning. So, something sweet and a little light-hearted. Something that will hopefully bring a smile to your face and the faces of all of your friends, family, and loved ones. Ooooo, I almost left out the best party…I mean part. Enjoy 25% off save the dates & engagement announcements with code ENGAGED25 at Minted!
So, even though you can’t change the Wedding 2.0 Version at hand, you can have a bit of fun with it while supporting independent artists and saving a little coin. Maybe, just maybe, there is a silver lining to this rain cloud.
Now, whose got those dancing shoes on? Looks like there will be something to celebrate after all.
